Summer Art Adventures 2017 Student Show

VMFA is pleased to present this collection of student artworks selected from our annual Summer Art Adventures program. Each work on display was created by one of last year’s camp participants and was individually chosen by the instructors of each camp. Students enrolled in these camps were inspired by masterworks in VMFA’s collection, and guided by a talented team of faculty to push their creative talents to new limits. This exciting program encourages young artists to create, learn, grow, imagine, and have fun! Reaching more than 9,000 students annually, VMFA Youth & Family Studio Programs encourage students from kindergarten to grade 12 to participate in innovative art projects that foster imagination, creative thinking, and the joy of learning! Taking full advantage of the museum’s extensive resources and renowned art collection, students discover and experience a range of art mediums and techniques while also learning about math, science, language, history, and technology, as they correlate with the Virginia Standards of Learning. We hope you enjoy these works of art and admire the talent and accomplishments of VMFA’s young artists. To find out more information about Youth & Family Studio Programs, please pick up a copy of our course catalog or visit our website at vmfa.museum/youth-studio.
