Admission

General admission to the museum is always free. The cost for ticketed special exhibitions varies. Members enjoy free admission to all ticketed special exhibitions.  

We offer the following discounts:

  • Through Museums for All, we offer admission to ticketed special exhibitions at a reduced price of $2. Reserve tickets by presenting an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card and valid ID at the Visitor Services Desk or by emailing info@vmfa.museum. Memberships are also available at a discounted rate through Museums for All. 

  • Through Blue Star Museums, we provide free admission to ticketed special exhibitions for military personnel (Active Duty, National Guard, and Reserve) and their immediate families. To reserve tickets, phone 804.340.1405 or present a military ID at the Visitor Services Desk.

Parking

The VMFA Parking Deck, open during museum hours, is $6 per day for nonmembers and free to VMFA members.  

  • To enter the parking deck, follow the driveway either from the VMFA entrance on N Arthur Ashe Boulevard or from the intersection of Sheppard St and Stuart Ave. 

  • Members must scan their physical or digital membership card to access the parking deck. If you do not have your membership card, if it has expired, or if it does not scan, present your parking ticket at the Visitor Service Desk for validation.

Accessible parking is available in the parking deck and on the north side of the main museum building, adjacent to the Robinson House Virginia Tourism Center. An elevator in the deck and accessible walkways to the museum are available.  

For vehicles dropping off passengers, a drop-off area is available adjacent to the main entrance. 

Free street parking may be available on streets surrounding the museum.
