It’s Your Art!

Free Speakers Bureau programs introduce VMFA to community organizations

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts’ Speakers Bureau, a dedicated group of volunteers that speaks on behalf of the museum, is now accepting requests for engagements at social and civic group programs.

Docents and members of the Council of VMFA act as ambassadors of the museum by presenting a lively and engaging introduction about the museum’s history, services and facilities. The speakers interpret images of art from the permanent collection and preview upcoming exhibitions. Service clubs, church fellowships, women’s clubs and senior citizen groups will find that this free program at their location provides an excellent enrichment program and prepares the audience to visit VMFA, a world-class museum that belongs to all Virginians.

“We have taken this presentation throughout the greater Richmond region and as far as Farmville,” says Council member and Speakers Bureau presenter Sally Josephson. “We have had many positive comments about this excellent enrichment program. ‘It’s Your Art’ prepares an audience to visit VMFA, a world-class museum that belongs to all Virginians.”

“It’s Your Art!” is a 45-minute informative presentation about VMFA. The programs consist of a PowerPoint presentation, and equipment is included. To engage a free presentation within the greater Richmond region, visit http://vmfa.museum/statewide/request-program/
