The Bièvre flowed north through the Left Bank of Paris, meandering around the Gobelins tapestry manufactory and other industrial sites before emptying into the River Seine near the Jardin des Plantes. Once known for both its periodic flooding and unsavory stench, the Bièvre is now entirely paved over.
