As a goblet for drinking wine, this vessel, known as a gu, has an elegant shape with a high base and a narrow waist. Stylized zoomorphic designs cover the surface. Below the rim, blades are rendered in low relief, a common attribute of such bronzes. The pictogram cast inside the hollow foot suggests the clan of the owner to whom this vessel is dedicated.
