The best Greek coins were designed by well-known artists. This decadrachm was designed by the artist of Euainetos, who introduced foreshortening to coin design. His innovation can be seen here in the depiction of the horses, with their heads turned in different directions, and the quadriga (four-horse chariot). Nike, goddess of Victory, crowns the charioteer.
