This mask, representing a hawk or vulture, dances in whirling motions. Even when the mask is still, its broad surface and black-and-white designs convey the dynamism of flight.

The Bwa borrowed both mask imagery and style from the neighboring Nuna, including the broad, plank-like form of the hawk masks. The hornbill and crocodile mask nearby, a superb example of Nuna design, reveals the similarities that result from open sharing between these two cultures.
