Journey Through Vietnam

Nov 15–29, 2021

One of the most beautiful destinations in Southeast Asia, Vietnam is home to the art and culture of Buddhist, Hindu, and the Cham people, iron-age inhabitants of Indochina related to the Khmer civilization of Cambodia. This tour begins in Hanoi, with visits to the infamous and sobering Hoa Lo Prison, the Temple of Literature (c. 1070), the Presidential Palace, and dreamy Ha Long Bay. Travel south to Da Nang, with visits to the Cham Museum (Hindu legacy, 7th – 15th centuries), the World Heritage village of Hoi An, and the ancient imperial city of Hue, with the Forbidden Purple City complex. Continue to Can Tho in the Mekong Delta, and conclude in Saigon. An optional post-trip extension to Cambodia and Angkor Wat is available.
