Beginning with an overnight stay in New York City and a visit to The Metropolitan Museum of Art, we will drive north up the Hudson River Valley to the historic town of Rhinebeck, which will be our home for five nights. From there, we will visit iconic residences of the Hudson River School’s founding painters; discover the private side of an American political dynasty at the Roosevelt mansion in Hyde Park; and admire the wonderful art collections and gardens at Kykuit, the home to four generations of Rockefellers. Other exceptional sites on our itinerary include visits to private homes and collections; Dia: Beacon and Storm King for contemporary art lovers; Union Church; and the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center at Vassar College.
