The Art and Architecture of Cuba

Postponed to November 12–19, 2022

Cuba: colorful, exotic, authentic! VMFA is happy to be returning to Cuba, focusing on the incredible art and architecture in and around Havana. Because it has remained isolated from the mainstream of tourism, Cuba is not just another vacation destination in the Caribbean. Filled with history, beautiful structures, and a robust artist community, Havana retains the charm of the past as well as the creativity of the contemporary. Participants will visit with some of the city’s leading artists in their homes and studios and enjoy walking tours with architectural historians, harkening back to the 19th-century, when Cuba was one of the wealthiest countries on earth. Dine in private paladars, often located in the owner’s homes; visit museums, collections, and galleries; and enjoy amazing spectacles of vintage automobiles – treasures to the Cuban people that you will be able to experience up close and personal! Lodgings will be provided at a conveniently located hotel in downtown Old Havana.

8 days from $5,999 plus air
