The Council of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Scholarship InformationThank you for your interest in youth programs at VMFA. Scholarships to attend Studio Classes for Youth and Teens are based on financial need and are available on a limited basis to students ages 5-17. Scholarships are valid for one class; requests for specific classes will be considered but can not be guaranteed. Scholarships will be awarded based on available funding. Scholarship application information is confidential and used only for scholarship criteria evaluation. All scholarship applications are due to VMFA for consideration three weeks in advance of the start of the requested class. These standards represent a broad consensus of what parents, classroom teachers, school administrators, academics, and business and community leaders believe schools should teach and students should learn. VMFA Teen Studio Instructors design gallery-based instruction emphasizing SOL achievement. A complete listing of the Standards of Learning is available online. VMFA’s Compliance with Code of Virginia 22.1-296Enacted in 2006, Section 22.1-296.1 of the Code of Virginia requires that all persons who provide services to school children during school sponsored activities and have direct contact with students certify that 1) the individual has not been convicted of a felony or any offense involving the sexual molestation or physical or sexual abuse or rape of a child; and indicate 2) whether the individual has been convicted of a crime of moral turpitude.VMFA Child Protection Guidelines You will find a copy of VMFA’s certification letter, as well as a copy of our certification waiver signed by all of those at VMFA working with children |
