VMFA is a great place to do business.
  • When you are a business partner with VMFA, you joint the long legacy of public-private partnership between the Commonwealth and our supporters since 1936.

  • As a Corporate Partner, you join other business leaders who share in VMFA’s commitment to collect and conserve art and to offer educational programs to Virginians across the state.

  • We rely on support from the business community to help maintain VMFA’s reputation as one of the leading art museums in the country. In return, we offer benefits designed to add value to corporate patronage and to help achieve specific commercial objectives through corporate sponsorship.

  • VMFA is accessible to the entire Commonwealth. When new businesses consider moving into our area, they want to know what the community has to offer. The Museum is proud to be a leader in Virginia’s art community, providing social, cultural, and creative opportunities to corporate neighbors.

  • VMFA is Richmond’s number one tourist attraction and one of its leading sources of economic development. Our visitors bring business to local restaurants, shops, and hotels. In 1999, the Splendors of Ancient Egypt exhibition alone generated an estimated $11.7 million for local area businesses.
As chairman of the VMFA Business Council, I’m fortunate to work with a group of business men and women who share the conviction that the Museum is a major economic engine for our region, as well as a center for creative energy and inspiration. As COO of a Richmond-based company that provides consulting services to a variety of industries nationwide, I appreciate the fact that the arts stimulate ideas and fresh perspectives that can be applied in the workplace. These facts convinced me long ago that supporting the Museum just makes good business sense, and I’m pleased to encourage others in the corporate community to do the same.

VMFA Sponsorship Program

Many excellent opportunities exist for corporations to partner with the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts to sponsor a wide variety of outstanding programs, exhibitions and events. These collaborations support the Museum as one of the most important resources for art and education in the South while at the same time providing significant benefits to the sponsor.

VMFA sponsorship packages are designed to help meet specific corporate interests and objectives. The benefits of sponsorship include:

  • Visibility and recognition that are vital to successful, competitive marketing
  • Exposure to a large and diverse museum audience, the demographics of which demonstrate an attractive consumer profile
  • Association with the Museum, the leading fine arts museum in the South
  • Public appreciation of corporate support for the benefit of the community
Consumers respond to corporate citizenship, where businesses contribute to the communities they serve. Sponsorship is an ideal opportunity to partner with the Museum to help present programs and exhibitions of the highest quality, while at the same time strengthening the corporation’s position in the region and reinforcing its commitment to customer relations.

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts reaches audiences through distributed printed materials, direct mail, the Museum’s bi-monthly Calendar, press releases, web site postings, print ads, and editorial coverage. Corporate sponsors are recognized in all paid ads and on all promotional materials, including:

Corporate Patronage

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is a major contributor to our shared cultural and economic community. Hundreds of thousands of people visit to enjoy our permanent collections and special exhibitions, and to participate in our educational programs. This in turn helps to generate millions of dollars for our local economy each year.

The Museum has an impressive group of corporate patrons representing leading businesses throughout the region. As a benefit of sponsorship, the Museum works with sponsors to design an event or series of events to entertain customers, prospective clients, and employees, or to be introduced to VMFA patrons. The Museum lends itself to a wide variety of entertaining options, from tented cocktail parties on the West Wing Terrace to seated dinners in the Pauley Center (formerly Center for Education and Outreach), an extraordinary example of Federal Revival architecture.
