VCU Podcast: Princess Elizabeth
Speaker 1: This girl, she's only 10-years-old and she looks
like an old woman
Speaker 2: She's the daughter of Queen Anne.
Speaker 1: She actually looks like her--the hair, the makeup,
even the dress looks the same.
Speaker 2: Like the daughter has to be the mirror of the mother.
Speaker 1: I like her dress better--it's lighter, it makes her
look prettier than her mom.
Speaker 2: The pattern stands out more because the background
of the fabric is lighter.
Speaker 1: Look at all the red--her lips it's like an ad for what
a beautiful woman she's gonna be.
Speaker 2: The red is repeated throughout--look, in her hair,
on her dress, the book, the carpet
Speaker 1: Do you think that book is like a bible or something?
Speaker 2: Maybe it's a prayer book--a bible would be bigger.
Speaker 1: Do you think the little book is to contrast her good
looks?
Speaker 2: Yeah maybe to show that she's foxy and yet still religious.
Speaker 1: Just like her mom--without the foxy part!
Speaker 2: I don't understand the poufy hair.
Speaker 1: Do you think they have something like Brillo at that
time?
Speaker 2: Brillo?! For what?!?!
Speaker 1: You know, to hold their hair up.
Speaker 2: Oh, you think there's something inside the puff?
Speaker 1: There has to be--it doesn't look natural at all!
Speaker 2: I don't know about that--let's find a museum employee
and ask them.
