Artist’s Statement

My current work is inspired by my experiences working for the past twenty years as an archaeological technical artist in Greece, Egypt, and Jordan. Man's legacy from the past is manifest in the artifacts, architectural foundations, and ruins left behind. For several months a year I live surrounded by this legacy. I see archaeology's quest for historical and cultural identity as a metaphor for the individual's search for identity. I strive to create contemplative objects directing the viewer to consider where we come from as a civilization and as individuals. My concern is in the nexus of the physical and spiritual, the known and the unknown, the found and the sought.
