COLLEGE ADVISORY COUNCIL

Purpose
The principal purpose of the College Advisory Council is to involve members of the higher education community in advising, marketing, advocating, and evaluating college programs produced by the department of VMFA Adult and Higher Education.

Specific functions of the Council include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. make recommendations for College Night events taking place in the fall of each year, including theme, format, guest performers, and marketing; the Council will also recruit submissions of student-produced works of art from his or her school for a digital slide slam as requested.
  2. make recommendations for Student Symposium, a spring program each year including theme, format, marketing, and other elements; student reps on the Council will also prepare and give gallery talks to participants in the Student Symposium as requested.
  3. advise Manager of Adult and Higher Education in the development of new college programs.
  4. evaluate existing programs for adult audiences.
  5. actively participate, support, and promote VMFA initiatives and programs within the college community.
If you are a Virginia higher education faculty or staff member and are interested in serving on the College Advisory Council for a one year term (3 meetings) please e-mail Celeste Fetta. Student representatives are selected by faculty and staff members.
