In 2008, as the regional liaison for the Museum of Modern Art's Alzheimer's Project, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts launched ArtLinks, group tours for facilities that serve individuals with dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

While VMFA galleries are off view until May 1, 2010 , ArtLinks will now come to you! ArtLinks Outreach visits are one hour in length and presented by a VMFA Educator using high quality reproductions of works of art in the VMFA collection. Facilities may select from two stimulating themes, Places or Let’s Eat.

ArtLinks Outreach is available to facilities October 1, 2009-April 2, 2010 and is dependant on educator availability. Fee: $25 per group (recommended group size is 16). A check payable to VMFA must be presented the day of the visit.

For more information and to schedule an ArtLinks Outreach visit for your facility, please call Celeste Fetta at 804.204.2691 or email celeste.fetta@vmfa.museum at least three weeks in advance.

For more information on Alzheimer's, Dementia, or for support, please visit the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Richmond Chapter.
