Mummy: Secrets of the Tomb
Student groups may arrange for self-directed visits of this special exhibition seven days a week, November 19, 2011-March 11, 2012 at 10:30, 11 and 11:30 am. Please note: this is not a guided tour. This is a timed exhibition. A 3-D film will be shown prior to exhibition entrance. Ticket times indicate film start time. The film begins precisely at the ticket time, therefore it is imperative groups are on time in order to see the film. Late groups may not be admitted to the film. Minimum of 10 students, maximum of 150 students and chaperones total per time-slot. Reservations are subject to ticket availability.
Cost: Group tickets are $12 each for students and chaperones. 1 free chaperone is admitted for every 10 students. Tickets for Members are free. Membership numbers and names are due at time of reservation. Please attach with reservation form. Membership information submitted after reservations have been made will not be accepted.
Payment information: Payment must be received no less than TWO WEEKS prior to the date of your tickets. Due to the high number of group reservations for this exhibition, you may not be contacted to remind you that your reservation will expire. Please be sure that full payment is received before the due date, otherwise we cannot guarantee your tickets. Additional tickets may be added after the due date, dependent on availability. Once payment is received, tickets are non-refundable. Payments may be made by phone with a credit card or by mail with a check made out to VMFA. 804.340.1419.

This complimentary 2 ½ hour introduction to Museum Studies focuses on the organizational, philosophical, and educational aspects of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Conducted by staff of the Education and Statewide Partnerships Division, your students will receive first hand accounts of how VMFA is structured and how the museum is used as an active learning environment. When possible, this session may also include curators, conservators, and designers.
