A Solarplate is a light-sensitive photopolymer plate that may be used to make relief or intaglio prints. Learn how to create and print Solarplates in this workshop designed for artists who want to explore less toxic photographic intaglio and relief print processes. This comprehensive workshop includes creating imagery, exposing, processing, and printing the plate. Imagery may be created using opaque, oil-based materials directly on the plate or with transparent positives, similar to traditional photogravures. Processing the plate is simple and printing is the same as traditional relief or intaglio printing. Some materials provided.
